Introduction
|
Welcome to the Directorate for Quality Promotion and Capacity Development
We have two areas of responsibility:
- Quality Promotion: the development of a programme of activities to institutionalise a quality culture in higher education and a commitment to continuous quality improvement, and
- Capacity Development: the development and implementation of initiatives to build and strengthen the capacity for high quality provision at institutional, learning programme and individual levels.
In line with the HEQC's decision to prioritise the quality assurance and improvement of teaching
and learning, we have established an Improving Teaching and Learning project.
We facilitate debate on quality and quality assurance issues and disseminate information on
these and other related issues through activities such as Quality Assurance Managers Forum.
A major responsibility is the identification and preparation of a pool of senior higher
education academics and managers from both the public and private sectors to be part of institutional
audit panels and serves as
reviewers of programmes submitted to the HEQC for accreditation.
