Higher Education Quality Committee Information System (HEQCIS) |
|
Welcome to the Higher Education Quality Committee Information System (HEQCIS)
|
This portal will give you basic information on the HEQCIS as it applies to private providers of higher education accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) of the Council on Higher Education (CHE).
One of the responsibilities of the HEQC is to collect data on student achievement from its accredited providers in the format prescribed by the HEQC, in consultation with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). The HEQC then submits this data to SAQA for inclusion in the National Learners' Records Database (NLRD). The HEQCIS is therefore a system that has been created by the HEQC for the purpose of collecting such data from its accredited private providers. The data from public providers does not form part of the HEQCIS as it is submitted directly by the Department of Education (DoE) to SAQA after it has been received from public providers and processed by the DoE's Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS).
HEQCIS can be accessed directly at the following URL: www.che.ac.za/heqcisinfo.
The HEQCIS Manager will be available to answer any questions about the HEQCIS. Please feel free to send an email to or call 012 431 5036 if you are experiencing any problems.
