Mercy joined the CHE in 2002, and is a Project Administrator in the Coordination Division of the Accreditation and Coordination Directorate.
Before joining the CHE, she taught English and Mathematics at Nkwanca Public High School in Queenstown. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1996 with a B.A. (Ed), majoring in English and Education.
She holds a BEd (Hons) in Education Management, Law & Policy Studies from the University of Pretoria.
Mercy joined the ranks of the African National Congress in 1984. Whilst in exile she visited Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Ghana. Her experience in exile has contributed towards her developing a broader perspective and outlook in terms of cultural diversity and development issues nationally and internationally.
Her areas of interest are reading and engaging herself with current debates in politics and education in particular. She loves to travel and listen to music. |
