Consultative meeting

On 30 September 2004, a formal consultative meeting was held in Pretoria to discuss the project proposal and activities within the project. People who were present were from South African Technikons Student Union (SATSU), South African Universities Student Representative Councils (SAU-SRC), National Association of Student Development Practitioners (NASDEV), Quality Assurance managers, Deans of Students, National Association of Distance Education Organisations of South Africa (NADEOSA), Midrand Graduate Institute (a private institution) and the CHE.

Baseline survey

We will conduct a national baseline survey for Student Representative Councils at the beginning of 2005 to find out how much students know about institutional and national quality assurance practices, and how much do they participate in quality related structures.

Future activities

Quality awareness campaign

This campaign will highlight the importance of quality assurance for students.

Training academic representatives

This training will be for those students who have been chosen to be the voice of students in various Faculty and institutional structures which discuss quality assurance and academic matters.
